"I like your shirt!"

I ran across this shirt when I was not pregnant, and thought to myself if I ever did have another baby I would for sure get this! Luckily, being pregnant through the month of October worked out great. I made sure I had plenty of events to wear this for to justify buying such a novelty item. One such event was this past Saturday - Ghoultide Gathering - a specialty Halloween art show that my friend exhibits in (I'll add her link further down).

Sorry for the pained and pale look on my face, but it was a cold and windy day - hard to smile for the camera.

Konrad & Joseph Fireflicker Cardigan - Anthropologie
Jeans - Motherhood Maternity
Bare Traps "Armandy" Boots - Macy's
Hoop Earrings

I also wore the shirt a few weeks earlier, when I took my hubby to a Social Distortion concert for his 40th Birthday. It was the perfect choice for the venue. (I hope to do a post on music in the future.)
I plan to wear this for any other Halloween outing this month..... pumpkin patch, trick or treating, etc..... Besides the events I've already mentioned, I have worn it out running a few errands yesterday. Hence the title of this post, no matter where I wear it, I get a lot of smiles and comments. Mostly, "I like your shirt!"

Richard has taken a huge liking to the shirt as well....... he wants me to wear it every day. He even wandered into our room at 3 a.m. the other night asking where it was. But the sleeping habits of a 3 year old is a whole other post!

You can do fun things while wearing this too..... like feeding the baby tomato and mozzarella salad!

I do hope to share some home decor on here, and since this is sort of a Halloween themed post, starting with my current mantle styling seemed like a good start. I have wanted a fireplace and mantle for so long! I am lucky enough that the new house has 2! Even though we've only been here 2 weeks, it bothered me that I didn't know immediately just what I wanted to decorate with (for an every day look). I know it seems silly, but after wanting something for so long, and pouring over Pinterest inspiration, I thought it would be easy.

Luckily, after going to Ghoultide Gathering, the inspiration hit for a fun Fall motif. I had purchased a new doll from my friend Jennie at Prim Pumpkin, and I wanted to display all (well most all) of the dolls I had from her in one place. I also have a framed print that I bought from Melissa Belanger that I got at the show last year (this year I bought an owl painting). The 3 panel screen is from Department 56 and is usually the backdrop for my lighted houses (don't know if I have the energy this year to put them up). There are some crates and my Mom's Nancy Drew books. I love the addition of yellow and blue to the typical orange. I was surprised at how quickly this came together once I focused on it.
Of course, there are some peacock touches! If you look closely at Melissa's work, you can see two of the trick or treaters have peacock outfits on!

That shirt is awesome! Just the best! You are so cool to wear it. And the picture of you feeding the baby is so good. I have that cardigan! I bought it for $24 on a popback over the summer. I tie it in the back, too! It is funny, because we have exactly the same taste. : ). And I love your holiday decor. I do not have anything up yet, although I did buy the kids' costumes last night.

I love, love how you decorated your mantel. It's so elegant and professional looking, something you would see in a magazine. I am a Nancy Drew fan and have been wanting to do a yellow and blue outfit in a post, along with my Nancy Drew books.
I would love to see your Department 56 houses. I have them as well and yes, it is a chore to set them up. Maybe you can do a few or just one this year.
Thanks for sharing,
Stacey
