Back into the "Spring" of Things

It's been over 2 months since I blogged. But typically, in all the years that I've blogged if I've ever taken an extended break it's been during the Winter. There are a couple of standard reasons for this:
#1 It's harder to take pictures in the Winter because it is cold and there is limited natural light. Also, as the season dredges on, I find my outfits to become uninspiring.
#2 The holiday season (and recovering from it) takes up the majority of my free time.
This year..... this year though I have really been having a hard time. I've never really dealt with long term depression. Of course I have had bad days here and there, but I have been in a "funk" that has lasted several months. Luckily, I've been in tune enough with myself to know the signs and find ways to help myself. The funny thing is, so many people I have talked to have said the same thing this year! Is it because we are all getting older? Is it because we are all going through the hardest time in life (mid-life, raising kids, trying to keep your marriage together). We already live in a part of the country that has seasonal affective disorder.
Sometimes, the hardest thing is that depression doesn't make sense! Sure, we as a family had a rough 2017, but overall what do I have to be depressed about? I have a roof over my head, food in my cupboard, a job, a great hubby, healthy & wonderful kids, the list goes on. Maybe I'll chat more about this in future posts, but I'm hoping that I am getting back into the swing ("Spring") of things. Random nice weather days help, along with super bright sweaters!
I added this cardigan to my "ugly sweater collection" when Anthropologie had an extra 40% off sale a few weeks ago. It runs BIG, I am wearing a small and it is still generous. It is a cropped, boxy fit and with all it's colors it's going to go with a lot! I did a simple cami and jean pairing to break it in, but I am looking forward to experimenting with some dresses. On an off topic, I have started reading a lot more within the last year so that has cut into my blogging time!
