I know I sound like a broken record, but I am always on the hunt to get the best deal on everything I buy. I just can't help it. Here's some fun recent finds I couldn't wait to share.
First up, the Topsy-Turvy Jewelry Box which retails at Anthropologie for $298.00. I have admired this from afar for a couple of years now. It has never gone on sale. If you read the reviews, they aren't very good. Many people report of the piece being broken if they order it online, and honestly the ones I've seen in person in the stores are pretty shoddy too. I had often brainstormed on how to make something like it myself. Well now I don't have to because while recently having lunch at the Cracker Barrel, I spotted it's cousin in their gift shop - for only $23.99! I don't go there often to eat, so it's not like I am aware of what they sell all of the time. Although this makes me want to go there more than I do! Luckily, they also sell online so here is a link to the Green Cabinet with Drawers. Gorgeous as is, but at that price you could even paint/decoupage/hardware it up with whatever choices you wish. I am debating on if I am going to alter mine....
Long hair and little kids don't mix. So quite often, I am putting my hair up. I can't remember the last time I bought myself a hair accessory. Everything I have, I've had forever. And this is more than what I have ever spent. But when I saw this peacock pin, I thought I might treat myself. Anytime Anthropologie carries a brand that is not their own, I ALWAYS look to see if it is offered somewhere else for less (good example here). And here are the product links so you can see shop for yourself:
AND here are both items in action! The DIY necklace holder above can be seen here. It seems I am ALWAYS in need of jewelry storage, and I am just giddy about my newest addition!

I can't believe that Anthro one is nearly $300! So expensive! Major score on the one you found!

Cute jewelry box! Both of them are darling and they may be easy to make. If one could find single boxes and glue them together it just may work.
It would be a cute project for kids. I have a nine year old daughter so you just may have saved Spring Break for me!
Thanks for sharing,
Stacey
Isn't it great Kacie? I was so excited!
Ohhh yes! Let me know if you do find the supplies to make them! So fun!
