Geometric

One thing I love for sure, is an unusually printed maxi dress! From the pattern to the color combos, it's something that Anthropologie does so well! It's no surprise that I was drawn to this print because it is so similar to a pair of wide leg pants I used to own (also from Anthro) - I posted the comparison pics at the end. Unfortunately, I couldn't fit in the pants anymore so I sold them on the buy/sell/trade board.......and then bought this dress on the same board a bit later! A good example of replacing something you are not using but still love. I think I love the dress version more in fact! Out with the old, in with the new...... destash to restash! And while we're on the subject of geometric maxis, this one also reminds me of another Anthro fav (also pictured at the end)..... I don't know what these shapes are - eyes? At any rate, these are two of my most beloved dresses - forever keepers!

Black Wedges - Rockport
Brass Peacock Feather Earrings - Lucky Brand

The resemblance is uncanny, mostly at the bottom of the dress where it starts to get the lines and dots. The pants were by Harlyn (and independent brand) and the dress by Anthro's in house brand Floreat.

Favorite!

This Corey Lynn Calter dress is one of my favorite Anthropologie purchases. Every time I put it on, it makes me so happy and I continue to find different ways to accessorize it. I really liked the drab green jacket this time, since my past layering pieces were always in the teal and blue colors (teal sweater and jean jackets). This is the 4th time I have posted this dress..... I put some comparisons at the end, but you can see the actual posts here, here and here.

Getting Warmer

Most all of my dresses are seasonless, which means I can wear them year round. Now that the weather is finally warm, I enjoyed wearing this pretty without tights, booties and a sweater. Strappy sandals and a jean jacket makes me so happy! Just for reference, I posted the "Winter" look at the end.

Ancient Myths

Every once in a while, I find myself really drawn to an ethnic print. This skirt is a patchwork of sorts - a cross between batik and dutch wax patterns. Since my only other dutch wax skirt is short (see post here) I was also really liking the maxi length on this one. Elastic waistband, pockets, and so many colors for endless outfits = sold! I am also showing one of the swing tanks I've been talking up so much, tucked in to show it's versatility. In fact, the tank and sandals are the only "new" items with everything else coming in secondhand from the Facebook group and thrift store.

Current Obsession : Flowy White Shirt

I've been seeing so many white, flowy shirts lately that I have to admit I am obsessed. I believe they are like chambray shirts - you can't have enough of them. They are just so easy to throw on with just about any bottom. Of course, Anthropologie does flowy oh so well, so I have a variety of ideas below. Some are current options while others are from years past (where you would have to look at resale options). I noticed that in particular, their brand HD in Paris creates the majority of them. This one that I got during the last extra percent off sale promo I paired with my floral jeggings. I love it's subtle hi-lo hem and slits on the side.

Blue, Blue, Blue

I wore my jeweled bug top again, this time switching out the jeans for navy pants and a longer sleeve chambray top underneath. You can see the first outfit here.

Colorful

A few posts ago, I talked about shopping on Facebook. I mentioned other groups that I was a part of, so this post surrounds the phenomenon that is LuLaRoe. LuLaRoe is a home based business (has consultants) and of course all of them have their own FB groups. There are also Buy, Sell, Trade groups that are consumers (and unfortunately, flippers). This brand is new to me, having recently been introduced to it by a couple of friends and my sister-in-law. They are most well known for their leggings and let me tell ya, I have never felt anything so soft in my life. Now I know why they have such a strong following. They also have skirts, dresses, tops, cardigans and a kids line so you can match your little person. I thought ladies were obsessed with Anthropologie - oh boy, they do not even compare to these LLR ladies!!! It's been harder for me to find/buy what I want within these groups because people are so darn fast! There have what they call "Pop Up" parties daily, with different consultants, and quite honestly I just don't have the time it takes to be involved in all of them. I've been able to snag one thing via a consultant so far, a couple of things from the buy/sell/trade group, and then it's off to eBay for this lady to find a few other things. This is an instance of where I prefer eBay to one of these groups. Search for what I want, buy it now, done deal.

Anyway, so far, I am loving their "Amelia" style dress which I am featuring in this post. It's a fitted bodice with pleated/flared skirt, pockets, and exposed zipper in the back. I was in need of replacing my black and white striped dress that was showing some wear. I love using pops of color with black and white, so I wore a colorful statement necklace and red cardigan. The gorgeous painted wall is on a business (unfortunately closed up) on the way to downtown Jackson. Kristen and I always pass it if we take a run to our antique booth (or lunch downtown) during our lunch hour. I've been meaning to use it for outfit photos for a while now and Kristen was happy to be behind the camera rather than my tripod (you might even see her in my sunglasses! LOL). Do you see those "orbs" in the photos? I always like seeing them in a sunny photo, but isn't it said that they are spirits? I guess it's kinda fun to think that someone from the afterlife might be judging my outfit!
